The Dwingeloo Radio Telescope, open since 1956 and a national monument since 2009, is one of the oldest and most internationally renowned radio telescopes in the world. This radio telescope is located in a radio-interference-free zone near the ASTRON/JIVE buildings in the middle of Dwingelderveld National Park. The CAMRAS Foundation gives amateur astronomers, radio amateurs, pupils, students and other interested parties the opportunity to work with the telescope and conduct research. Regular activities are open to the public, and interested groups can request a tour.
