This paaltjestjasker has been in the state-owned forest between Grolloo and Elp since June 1985. Prior to that, the mill had been operational in peatland De Ziel until the end of 1940. The tjasker was found in the attic of a local farm. Such tjaskers were brought outside every spring to drain the land and would be stored back in the attic come autumn. Although there are only a limited number of them in the Netherlands, enthusiasts are hopeful another tjasker might one day be found in an attic somewhere.
