This entirely new mill was built relatively recently to the design of the technical advisor of the association De Hollandsche Molen in 1971. Materials recovered from other demolished mills in the area were used in its construction. Other parts are from Groningen mills. De Juffer is one of the few mills in the Netherlands’ that made use of separable rods. However, these rods were found to be unreliable, because their bolts had a tendency to come loose. The old rods were recently replaced by rods consisting of one piece, thereby enabling the mills to run safely again.
