What is striking about this dolmen is that the stones are very low to the ground. It is incomplete because stone robbers have struck their blow here. It is an interesting place to visit because on the other side of this dolmen the largest burial mound in Drenthe can be found: the Eppiesbarchien. In it the farmers from Drenthe had buried their dead from about 3000 BC when dolmen no longer belonged to the ritual. You can find this place by following the Valtherweg from Odoorn towards Valthe and turn right into the Hunebedweg.
