Since June 2000, a special collection of sculptures has been on display in the gardens of the De Havixhorst manor, a leafy site between De Wijk and Meppel in Southwest Drenthe. In addition to the permanent collection of sculptures by artists such as Pieter d'Hont, Eric Claus, Jan Bronner, Charlotte van Pallandt, Eddy Roos and Piet Esser, a close collaboration with Museum Beelden aan Zee, among others, has resulted in a varied range of sculptures that together provide a fine overview of the development of 20th century and contemporary Dutch figurative sculpture. The sculpture park is accessible free of charge and is open daily from 12:00 to 17:00. The garden is open all year round and breathes a different atmosphere every season.
