The Prison Museum used to be not a museum, but a very large house. Poor people who no longer had homes of their own lived here, as well as children without fathers and mothers (orphans). This year it is 200 years ago that the first orphans came to Veenhuizen.

The Prison Museum used to be not a museum, but a very large house. Poor people who no longer had homes of their own lived here, as well as children without fathers and mothers (orphans). This year it is 200 years ago that the first orphans came to Veenhuizen.

Will you come commemorate this with us? Then make sure you are in the museum on Wednesday July 3th or Wednesday August 14th to paint a commemorative stone. You can place it in a nice spot in nature as a reminder of all those children who were sent here. Of course, you can also take it home with you.

Will you be there?
